Kate Bligh

Kate is a lecturer in the Departments of Theatre and English at Concordia University, Montreal, and has an MFA in theatre directing from the University of Birmingham, UK. She holds citizenship from England and Canada after moving to Montréal, Quebec 20 years ago from England and is fully bilingual. For two decades now she has been consulting for, coaching, and training professional people whose work requires them to perform in the real world.


With a background in both professional performance and teaching, she has provided training and coaching in presentation, communications and instructional skills to a wide variety of clients including:

• Political candidates for national TV debates

• Senior public officials

• Members of the National Assembly in Ottawa

• Spoken word poets, comedians and professional actors and presenters of all kinds. e.g., Sugar Sammy, Daliso Chaponda

• Film and TV narration and dubbing (think Geoffrey Rush in The King’s Speech)

• Instructional librarians at universities across Québec

• Senior scientists at the National Research Council of Canada & Health Canada

• Surgeons and resident doctors at the Montreal General Hospital

• Professors at McGill and Concordia Universities, Dawson and Champlain Cégeps

• Trainers for the Strengthening Families programme run by CdN Black Community Association
